Rough Ride

Let’s review what we know, shall we?

DeLay indicted on campaign finance charges.
Frist under investigation by the SEC for insider trading.
Rove may be facing charges for the Valerie Plame affair.
Downing Street Memo.
Evidence of election fraud and voter tampering.
Cronyism.
FEMA’s dismal performance in the wake of Katrina.

Looks like we got a momentum building.
Looks like the pendulum has stopped and is poised to swing back.

Let’s set our expectation levels appropriately.

We still got:

Gasoline prices at $3 per gallon and rising.
Federal government running record deficits.
Global warming.
Iraq Quagmire.
Osama running free.
Afghanistan neglected.
The Supreme Court stacked against freedom.
Limbaugh,

Hannity,
Savage,
Coulter
etc.
spreading lies over the airwaves.
The majority of Americans (72%)

not accepting or doubting evolution.
The majority of Americans (52%)

believing that the prophecies found in the book of Revelations will come true.

Hold on, because it is going to be a long, rough ride.

And -- to add to your list -- worst of all, the majority of Americans are apathetic, egotistic, greedy crybabies who don't care if the country is fucked up as long as their dinner's hot and the TV's on.

"Be a jerk and go to work
Be a jerk and go to work
Do your job, and do it right
Life's a ball! (TV tonight!)
Do you love it, do you hate it?
There it is, the way you made it"

I'm patient. People can't take this kind of crap forever.

I am trying to remain cautiously optimistic. Just very demoralizing that things have gotten to this and still so many people appear to not see it.

xtcfan is right and I think that leads to the list of problems still to be tackled. It's amazing to me how self-absorbed the majority of Americans are. As long as nasty reality doesn't intrude and everything seen on TV confirms their stilted worldview, they're happy to let things slide.

It's the only thing that explains Dubya's "success."
